If you want to do on-then-off with Chess Mentor that is why we provided the hourly option. Subscriptions are auto-renew, but can be easily cancelled at any time.

Yes, if you decide to stop and then restart Chess Mentor all of your past data will be stored and available in the future!

I used it and liked it.  I won't be subscribing, but the demo was good.  If it ever becomes a free service I'll be all over it.  I know you've got bills to pay, but unfortunately I don't have any money I can use to help out.

yes enjoyed it will most likely take out a months subscription every now and again

Aha!  Finally, a way for me to improve my skill set and take on the Big Dogs.  Now if only you could loop "Eye of the Tiger" in the background so i could feel like Rocky while training to fight Clubber Lang.

just keep going with it and it will adjust itself quickly downward as you play through them and it realizes you weren't as strong as you said you were. :)

I am a bit of a beginner at Chess, and it was nice to see some puzzles that used basic tactics.  It is very instructional, and provides excellent feedback from Masters at the royal game.

It was neat.  But some of those fantastic combinations were way over my head.

Do I get a new rating with subscription?  Also, roughly how many lessons are offered in the whole thing.

you get a Chess Mentor rating which is separate from all other ratings on the site. but no, it does not reset after the demo :)

there are 2500+ lessons now with more coming!!

I think it is awesome...very humbling, hopefully will prove to be the great learning tool I think it will.

One thing to mention, when doing the demo lessons...you get a wide range of skill levels thrown at you, so some lessons are super easy, some are super hard. Once you've purchased and have access to 2500+ lessons, and use adaptive training mode, the lessons will be much more geared towards your skill level, and only get harder as you improve. So, there are certain aspects of the demo that are a bit frustrating simply because the lesson pool is so small.

That sounds good, jay. I had done some really hard lessons in the demo, then I got a whole string of easy one movers. It was kind of odd.

Great program though. Once I graduate and have a steady income, I'll try out a subscription.

I have tried some lessons.  It is a great learning tool.   Do you know how many lessons there are in total in the software?  Thanks!

I just tried the demo and liked it a lot.  One bit of feedback though, it would be great you could still move the pieces after the last frame of the lesson.  Sometimes the last frame gives the moves of how the game continued, it would be nice if you could play out the moves on the screen, instead of having to try and sight read.
erik
good feedback! thank you!

I tried the demo and liked it very much.  I will subscribe in the future I am sure.

Will we still be able to purchase the Chess Mentor program on CD-ROM (Deluxe, Comprehensive, etc.) for when we cannot get online?
