Ah, thanks for the quick reply. Will give that a try and cross my fingers. Cheers1
'blank chessboard'

Hi, thanks for the response.
I'm not using 'NoScript'...I'm using a dongle and this seems to be the source of the problems I'm having as everything on the site worked perfectly when I hooked my laptop up to my brother's broadband cable. I can play 'live chess' fine using the dongle but can't see the pieces in 'online games' and when viewing games in my archive and I can play flash games fine so I'm now thinking there's some kind of built-in incompatability between the dongle and the site (maybe its set up not to allow java games...) Either way, highly irritating!

Same issues here I guess. Can you open the Tactics Trainer? That's also giving me problems. Working through a dongle as well but I sure hope that's not the issue because I have no other option.

I have the same problem with trying to use the Tactics Trainer and when trying to play through games after I've played a match. The board appears sans pieces so I just download the pgn and run it on my chess program. Everything works fine when I use other methods of connecting to the net, it's just the dongle that gives me this problem which is a major pain as I use the dongle/laptop combo for 98% of my internet usage.
If anyone figures a way to sort this that'd be great (I tried running NoScript, that didn't help.)

Hi billybilly, can you please clear your browser cache and try again? If you still have the issue, please let me know!

Hi Jon, I've cleared cache and the problem persists. I've signed in with this same laptop using a cable connection without any of these glitches. Trial and error are pointing to some conflict/issue that's dongle related.

Chess.com support told me this morning that a dongle connection is simply not fast enough for some areas of the site to load. So I guess there is no solution for the problem... Pretty sad since I'm stuck with a dongle as well. There is no alternative here.

Cheers. Sounds about right. I'll just have to stick to playing 'live games' and use the other features as and when I can get a cable/wi-fi connection.
Hi all, new to the site and have been playing lots of 'live chess'. For a change, I wanted to try some 'online' games and have now found myself in a game playing black. The trouble is the chessboard displayed has no pieces and seemingly no way of submitting moves manually.
The thumbnail/preview shows all the pieces and the move my opponent has opened with but when I go to the game it's just an empty board. My browser is set to allow pop-ups so if anyone has an ideas that'd be appreciated.
Cheers!
