Blitz/Rapid Rating Discrepancy

Yeah there tends to be a significant discrepancy between those ratings at a “lower” level. My blitz used to be 1200 while my rapid was 1700, now I am 1900 rapid and 1770 blitz. From my personal experience blitz players tend to be better that rapid players at the same rating. I feel like I face more trouble against my 1700blitz opponents than against my 1900 rapid opponents.

Same. 1950 rapid, but 1050(ish) blitz. I have only played a few blitz games, but they made me so mad.
#4 you should play a few blitz games, I’m sure your rating will be well over 1050
Blitz often relies more on pattern recognition and intuition. If you're more comfortable with a slower pace that allows for deeper calculations, you may find blitz challenging.

I am at 1150 now. I really hate this. I don't think blitz is for me.

You've only played 17 games, there's no way that's your current actual Blitz strength at 1900 Rapid.
chess.com has always had this peculiar blitz ratings effect. If you're quite low-rated then your blitz rating on chess.com is likely actually lowballing your OTB rating. Then probably around maybe 1600 or 1700 it gets around the same. By the time you reach 1900 or 2000 blitz your rating is normalized again as in your online blitz rating is inflated compared to OTB, which is the norm for internet chess sites. But at the lower levels, you might be a bit better than your blitz would suggest. So I'm not sure if I would say it's the rapid that is way off, blitz is unnderrated at lower levels.

It just seems to me like the low rated players are very different and unconventional, which makes them hard to catch. At the 1950 rapid level, I can almost always count on my opponent to make a good move, and my chess player senses tell me when I am winning.

I am the only one who feels like there is massive rating Discrepancy between Blitz and Rapid? Even though the top grandmasters are much higher in blitz then rapid, it feels like at the intermediate level the lower elo 1200-1400~ play like rapid players who are rated around 1600-1800~ I had no problem slowly climbing to 1700 in rapid but I'm struggling to get past even 1300 (Despite being 1400 a month ago). Idk maybe i'm just bad at Blitz.
