Can we buy chess rating points? Thoughts?

If a chess player wants to improve his rating, he would buy a diamond membership, buy chess books to read, hire a paid chess coach etc. All of these cost money.

So whats the difference if we just pay directly for a higher rating?

Doing the first option doesn't guarantee a rating or performance increase. One of the main goals of the rating system is to pair players of similar strength.

You can hire a professional trainer read all about fitness buy the most expensive gym membership, and get absolutely no where if you dont work hard and study and go for something. achieving a rating is done through playing, gaining strength is done through weightlifting and eating right and etc, one cannot buy strength (were not counting steroids) as one cannot buy rating
