WTF?

have we lost 30 pages here?

chess_kebabs

Are you sure GM? not mixing this forum up with another one?

If yes, can you tell if last 30 pages or 1st or ?

gambit-man

Could be right babs, think i might have confused it with the new site design feedback topic.

but then, that begs the question as to why i got an alert for this topic, when the last post was 2 weeks ago...

chess_kebabs

That's been happening to  me also GM.. I have been getting alerts to forums where the last one to post was me! lol

gambit-man

my alerts haven't been working for much of the week, maybe there'll all catching up?!

chess_kebabs

gambit-man

Wink doesn't take much to pass me by...

It will be back shortly! And the candlestick graph you see now will still be visible on the Recent Activity stats page here.

This post is not so much about finding something, but it is about functionality of the site. I noticed that on most (all?) of the hyperlinks I click, it opens the link in the same tab that I have chess.com open in. Perhaps adding the [target="_blank"] function to the links so that they open up in a new tab? It's just easier than right clicking on a link and selecting open in a new tab. I like to keep the chess.com tab up while I am looking at other links.

Thank you

You just need to change your settings to open new pages in a new window. This option should be in your browser preferences.

Hahnda

Thank you for your reply. From what I have found, Google Chrome doesn't seem to have this setting. One has to press and hold down the control key when clicking the link to open it in a new tab. I'll just have to remember to do that each time.

chess_kebabs

That's not very practical to have to do that every time, but guess you have no choice. I did see this answer on the net, but not sure if it is a solution to your actual problem:

"I found a solution that works. Using the shortcut on your desktop (Win 7) right click>properties. I changed my target line to this:

C:UsersAdminAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplicationchrome.exe -start-maximized

Adding the start maximixed startup switch to the end of the target line makes a difference. I also clicked on the Run: dropdown menu and selected maximized.

Now the key to this working is to then place this shortcut on your taskbar (or wherever you usually launch Chrome from) and it will work! "

Assuming normal PC-mouse or touchpad available then hover/right-click gives option to open any link in either new-tab/window in chrome ?

Is not so hard to do but every link opening automatically in new tab might get awkward.

Hahnda

Thank you for your help. I believe that the control+click method will suffice as a solution. I don't want every link to open in a new tab, but I prefer the vast majority to be in a new tab. Especially when reading an article which has a hyperlink to more information or a video or the like. That way I can juxtapose them as needed.

Thanks

I can find it but it does not seem to be working. My time /move stat wrt. Online games looks stuck for over 6 months now (at 1 hr / 15 min)... Any clues?

netzach

An oddity occurring today is when clicking on ''online-chess'' all games display my avatar.

Even my opponents!
