Chess.com said I "abandoned" the game when my computer ran out of battery

I quickly connected in battery but chess.com resigned the game for me. sad.png Chess.com should only make someone resign when it take them inactive for a long time not 1 minute

Quick question - Was it a disconnect in battery or internet?

If it was battery, they you would have completely logged out and "abandoned" the game.

If it was internet, chess.com bases it on the time control of your game.  If you do not play a move for a certain percentage of the game, it counts as game abandonment.

Abandon just means to leave the game. They have no way of knowing if your battery went dead or you rage quit. What exactly do you expect them to do? They can’t give you a lot of time because people rage quit instead of resigning all the time. Do you expect players to suffer there waiting for no good reason other than the opponent was mad? Probably one time in 100 people who abandon games have legitimate reasons, the rest of the time they just don’t want to resign and are being petty.

I almost checkmated some guy, but wifi, which was still connected and running and I was waiting for HIM to make a move when the game said i abandoned it, even worse, I knew I was winning but the game just decides to go American bias and eliminated me, a Russian.(I'm joking about the bias stuff but still, I am pretty pissed)

Ever notice that people only lose due to connection, and they never complain about winning due to a bad connection.

Funny isn't it

Just happened to me, makes me so mad

You should keep your computed charged. It's not chess.com's fault that your computed ran out of battery power.

You should be mad at yourself.

It's like running out of ammunition in the heat of the battle.
