Not saying this site sucks or anything but I’ve played 1,200 games and I’ve played 100,000,000 cheaters. I don’t have any evidence to back this up but I have intuition. Also through no fault of my own I can’t reach 2000 Elo. This site is rigged. Also this for profit organization doesn’t offer me all of its features for free unlimited, which is an anti-consumer practice. Overall this site really needs to do better. Shame on you chess.com.

Funny. tongue

I've played a large number of games on this site; most of my games are 5/0 blitz. I don't worry much about cheaters and almost never accuse anyone of playing aided. I get notified by chess.com about once every 2-3 weeks that a game I lost was due to cheating. I suspect that only a very small percentage of my losses are due to someone playing aided, maybe 1.5 to 2%. My losses are due to things like internet issues, pc issues, all sorts of environmental events that have nothing to do with the game (like pizza delivery or pc chair breaks mid-game), me making poor playing decisions (like rote, unthinking moves), and my opponent playing a better-quality game, or just being a better chess player. When I lose, I rarely think I was cheated; on those very isolated occasions where I do consider the possibility, I still don't give it much thought, and just move on to the next game, knowing the perpetrator will get caught.

Same. I don't give it a second thought regarding my games. For cheating in general, I've heard it's not possible to get an exact figure but the best guess is it's somewhere between 1% and 3%. It's an issue for me only because of all the complaints, as in this thread. The idea seems to be, in most cases that they'd have a higher rating if not for all the cheating, which they often claim chess.com doesn't care about or do anything about.

Believing that cheating is 1%-3% is wild. In the lower levels it's easily over 30%. With newer accounts it's 60% plus. Almost all new accounts are cheating and the vast majority of them get away with it.
