chess rating in unrated games

Sometimes I play unrated games and my rating still goes up or down afterwards.. can anyone explain?? I thought if you play a unrated game you’re rating won’t be affected

Something must've gone wrong when you queued, unrated does mean your rating is unaffected after the game regardless of the result. To queue unrated, go to play, play online, custom, and then uncheck rated. Queue up for a game, and it should state whether it's a rated or unrated game
