I would like to see live blitz tournaments
Chess.com Feature Request and Wishlist #5

I would like to see the Games Explorer also inlcude all our live games in the databases. Currently it only keeps our onine (correspondence) game in it for us to reference.

i posted this in the group live chess tournement i think it could make live tournements alot easier with this semi live system
You would click on the game from your homepage and once you were there you clock would start Probably a 5/0 clock) when you did your move the clock stopped for you and didn't start for your opponent until he looked at the game. But to get e person to do the move in less than 3 days there would also be the normal corrospondence 3 days per move. The live chess clock just for when you were actually veiwing the board. Also you wouldnt be able to see it from your homepage just by rolling the mouse over it.
What do you think?
I think that's a great Idea of the clock only moving when you looked at it. But you would have to make it so that the clock keeps moving once the position is opened to look at it,otherwise a person could just glance at it, print out the position, close the window to stop the clock, have plenty of time to look at it before they opened the window again to get the clock moving.
yeah once they look at the game the clock keeps moving untill they do there move

I hate to rain on the parade but what does it accomplish exactly? You could end up waiting just as long for moves that are not as good as they could be in the same elapsed time period and forced to rush your moves as well.
If new time controls are added I'd much rather see time-per-game, x moves in y days or hourglass timers added to turn based in order to improve the issues with overall duration of tournament play there.

The concern is that by displaying the candidate move that you've entered prior to your submitting it, the # indicating checkmate might give some additional insight into the move (i.e. that it is a game winning move) that you might not have otherwise realized on your own. My observation was simply that this concern was already realized on the analysis board's move list.
It's a fairly innocuous form of assistance, really, and probably only helps relatively new players, but from a principled standpoint it's something that should probably be corrected, possibly by just removing the check/checkmate indicators. The functionality you've suggested should be treated the same way if it is implemented.
What I was saying was, someone could win a game they wouldn't have.

I thought of it mainly to help live chess tournements, another feature i would love to see. Currently live chess games cant be set up like a team match so i was hoping this would mix the live chess concept with turn based time and control.

I caught that -- what I was saying is that this is already a problem with the analysis board in its current state.

I would like to see an abandoned percentage next to a person's name in both the seek games list & when a person joins your seek, so you have an option of not playing a person who constantly abandons their games.

Has anyone asked for this? I'd like to be able to analyze all my games -- live and on-line --through game explorer.

I assumed the requests were to build a database out of completed live games for use during turn based or general study/review.

Absolutely correct -- I'm talking about analyzing completed games, so I can analyze the openings I use: what worked, what didn't. This would be tremendously helpful.
BTW -- you already can use Explorer for Online games in progress: it's like consulting an opening table or book. Once you're out of the book, the Explorer is no help.

Also, if it's possible, to be able to search for members whilst in 'Manage Members' in your group would be good, because often it takes ages to find people.
Just a small point.

...also, to be able to send to more than one recipient.
I think this might be done on purpose to prevent spamming....

Is there a way that when you are looking at the themes you have built, that you can see who else is using your theme (if applicable)? I saw that 2 others were using a theme I built (which is cool) and would just like to know who it is -- or wait, does this sound too nosy? Possibly so....

Would it be possible for the online [correspondence] chess games to have a time limit lower than 24 hours? Like an option for say 6 hours or 12 hours? For faster games but not as fast as live.

I don't think this is practical. You would need to be at chess.com 24/7 to make sure you don't time out.
It's just an option. You don't have to choose it if it doesn't fit your lifestyle.
I do have 24/7 broadband access and don't think I am the only one. So folks like me would like the option for 6 or 12 hours. It would be nice to have the choice.
