someone could have the same rating as you but have been playing and winning consistently people rated 200 points below, i like to try and play poeople who are quite closely matched to myself
And yet, you have an average oponent rating 150 points below your rating. I do not try to play people below myself, but I still have a lower average opponent. It's not very indicative of anything.
Sure, but someone with a 2000 rating and an average opponent rating (AOR) of 1800 might also have come up through the ranks by spending a lot of time playing lower rated players when they themselves were lower rated and as a result have an AOR that is weighted towards those lower-rated early opponents.
Now, a moving average AOR would be a great improvement that gives you the information I think you're after.
