Good idea. Post this topic in the Suggestions forum and the chess.com staff will consider it, at least that's what they told me.
Chess.com Greeter Program
I have signed up for the Greeter program also, and my experience is exactly the same as Traepoint's. I'll send a nice greeting and offer to answer questions about the site when I make my first move (as Black). Then, about 3 days later time will expire in about 90% of the games that I've started. I choose to view this as an educational service to the new players. There are instructions on what to expect from this type of game, but clearly these are not read or understood in the majority of cases. So in exchange for the minor inconvenience (on my part) of responding to the first move played, the noobie gets to learn first-hand the difference between live chess and turn-based chess on Chess.com. These are all unrated games, so I neither gain or lose points, and if it helps clear up the function of this game format for another player, then I'm okay with that.
The games that do get played out have been entertaining, and I've met some really interesting players that I probably wouldn't have if I didn't sign up for the greeter program. I would say overall that the benefits outweigh the downsides to this for me.

I have the exact same experience. I was going to make a post about it, but then I searched the topic and found this thread. None of my greeting games went more than 2-3 moves, and it fills my game archive with bunch of unrated, uncompleted games. I ended up resigning from the program.
Its a good idea on paper, but not beneficial to neither side if people wont use it.
I recently decided to help out and opted in for the greeter program. The program consisted of a unrated online game to "New" members. In every game that I played 10, I won all of the games on time, within the first 1-2 moves. I found this disheartening. Is there a way that you can ask the members if they even want to play one of these games? Is it a "auto generated" game thats made when they create their account?
