i have a theory!
jaller435718 was jealous of pdela and his popularity, so he got a chinchila, and shoved it up his rectum! it cralled through him, (scratching his organs along the way) and made it's way to his brain. jaller then ordered his pet to control pdela. while controlled, he made hime sign on chess.com and delete his account. after that the chinchilla slashed his brain, wiping his memory of chess!
Well now I'm going to have to change my vote.

Actually the truth is much more shocking. He recently married Spanish Smurfette who insists that he puts childish things behind him, instead concentrating on the Smurfberry harvest.
I guess he reluctantly grew up.
he was challenged to mortal kombat by an immortal wombat!since he was obviously the underdog, the wombat gave him 2.5 months to train (to make it an even fight). if hes victorious, he shall return to chess.com as a hero! if not, hes dead and will never come back!!

By the way, I think you're all barking up the wrong tree with the alien abduction explanation for Pdela's disappearance. If the rumor of his interest in bio/medico topics is correct, it seems more likely that Pdela himself is the alien, and he has been called back to home base to report on us.
We should have a vote, like proKnight's CPotM, to see which explanation comes in second.
You should have said you wanted that before, LisaV, so I could miss a few theories
We have enough now that you can "forget" to add or even delete a few to your liking. :)
We do have a lot of theories here. Should I wait for more theories, or do you think if I wait too long to vote, he'll be back, screwing-up everything?
