Hey, we got over the 1000 barrier!

united_macedonia

I wonder if there is any way to find out if your report of someone suspicious is closed and the player you've submited is freed from the charges???Because I don't have many more moves left and I'm very possitive that I'm right. I believe that everybody is inocent until proven guilty so I'm not going to reveal anything more,I just want to know if the investigation process is still on,or my accusations proved wrong

Thanks for the understanding.

Hear hear. We need to start a group for those being targeted by this nefarious kabal.

Seems that nobody (or almost nobody) hasn't been caught cheating in the past month. Hurray! Chess.com succeeded to eradicate cheating. Isn't it a wonderful world? And a wonderful chess site we should all be proud of?

ozzie_c_cobblepot

*yawn*

costelus

Exactly Ozzie, everyone had enough discussions. There is nothing we can do: chess.com simply loves cheaters. They should admit that and everybody should move on and forget this story.

TheGrobe

I'm up for further constructive discussion, but I'm with Ozzie -- your shtick is just tiresome.

ozzie_c_cobblepot

Agreed.

Perhaps I might re-phrase the post as follows:

"How come almost nobody has been reported caught in the past month"

or "Gee, isn't it odd that nobody has been caught in the last month"

I would typically think that the number of cheaters would scale with the number of users, and I would have guessed that the website is growing at a healthy clip.

costelus

I'm sorry, there is nothing constructive I can do. I tried in the past, but no help. The dicrepancy between what I think it is cheating and what chess.com thinks it is cheating is simply enormous.

Guys, there have been a number of people banned in the last month that I have noticed, I'm sure there are more, just that the forum list hasn't been updated.

costelus

Personally I don't care anymore. There are way too many strong players here. It is clear to me that, if I want to play, I should go to another site, where I can find players for my level.

By the way, I reported more than a month ago somebody for cheating. The guy plays 3 0 and 5 0 live chess better than an ordinary 2700+ GM. What do you think chess.com did about that? Nothing, of course! He played since then about 200 games, I repeat, at a strength which would make even Anand to be envious. This is how chess.com fights against cheating and protects its users.

The fact that they catch from time to time a few bad apples is not going to change the situation: chess.com does not have a coherent attitude against cheating or cannot/doesn't want to enforce it. The few bad apples are just for advertising purposes.

Excellent! Can't wait for your departure! Bye!

costelus

Yes Tonico, as you can check yourself very easily, I stopped playing live chess here about 2 weeks ago. I have 3 correspondence games right now which I will finish and that's all my playing experience on this wonderful site.

Happy cheating!

EternalChess

Costelus go cry a river, if you suspect someone is cheating report them then play other people, your such a crybaby, dude, EVERY site has cheaters, so go live with it or play in real life and quit online chess..

costelus

No man, I don't cry at all: this is how it is, this is how this site chose to be. I agree, there are cheaters on every chess site, however my opinion is that on chess.com there are much more cheaters than I am willing to put up with. And the staff do not make figthing against them a priority. They do ban some idiots from time to time, when they remember, so that many will have the feeling that chess.com actually fight against cheaters.

TNziggy0076

you would think that eventually people would get tired of talking about cheaters.... but then again, doesnt it seem that no matter a persone is doing, they always trying to blame a loss on their cheating opponent... give it up, there are very very few cheaters here

I have to get "The Economist" to make sense of this mix salad here.
