While playing bullet does anyone experience their opponent’s clock add time or not move?

Yes! Many bullet players experience weird clock issues, and it can feel like your opponent’s time is freezing, increasing, or not moving at all. Here’s why it happens:

1. Lag Compensation (Ghost Time) ⏳
If your opponent lags, the server tries to sync their clock, making it seem like their time isn’t ticking.

Sometimes, they lose time all at once when their connection stabilizes.

If YOU lag, your move might not register, making it seem like your opponent's time is "stuck."

2. Pre-moves Look Suspicious 🚀
In bullet, strong players pre-move almost every move, making their time barely drop.

It might look like they gain time, but in reality, they’re just moving instantly.

3. Server Delays & Network Issues 🌐
Chess sites prioritize game fairness, so if there’s a connection issue, the clock sync can be delayed.

If you see random time jumps, it’s likely due to server adjustments.

Thank you for responding. What about the opponent’s clock staying at 53 seconds? It happens and it seemed like a hack.

Most likely that first one, the servers will give your opponent back time based on lag and that can sometimes end up in not losing any time or even gaining

That’s if he was playing moves, if it just stayed there while he was thinking it probably means you were lagging

I am not too sure about your question with "53 seconds" he might be removing, he might be hacking, he might be lagging. There's too much to tell.

I read the article the first person posted. When I’m playing an opponent with one minute per side and my opponent moves but their clock counts down to 53 seconds and doesn’t ever move again is the scenario that I’m referring to.

The 53 seconds references what my opponent’s time clock has remaining while mine has zero. I lose because of time. I’m not that slow of a player. I’m curious if anyone with a paid account has similar issues. I have a strong connection at home. When I’m on vacation in the middle of nowhere I understand the consequences.

If you look at the game in the archives, you'll see the clock actually is moving and it's possible the client code wasn't updating correctly. If you have an example where the archive shows something different, please post
