Could we get FisherRandom on Chess.com?

To my mind I think the ratings and seeks would have to be seperate, especially in the beginnings – I can see it rankling some people otherwise. I think where we have the tab on the far left wherein it gives a person the option to play chess or play against the computer, it would just go to three options – play classic chess, play the computer, or play Chess960. We could have seperate stats and seeks – this would preserve the sanctity of the normal rating – I wouldn't want anyone to feel like it disrupted their preferred way of doing things – although I can understand, and sympathise, with the programmers who might forsee complications to this that I cannot fathom. The imput of the programmers would be invaluable.
I was giving it a lot of thought when chess.com was down for the last hour (and a half? hehe) and I think the inclusion of this option would really invigorate the site – it would bridge rating gaps between players, as even established high rated players would be eager to prove themselves in Chess960 but there would be more excitement of possibility; the forums would be alive with cool games and ideas about it; the chess.com community overall could use the new featured Fischerrandom options as an excellent drive to bring new people to the site... I just think it would be an exciting breath of fresh air overall. We'd all be experimenters again, chess scientists, y'know?
What's more – if the site advertised/popularized this feature soon, it would ride on the interest generated by the advent of Fischer's death – almost as if to carry the torch, a sortof “right time” move. With the right investment, and the right layout, and the right advertisment – I think this could be a move that could set Chess.com additionally apart from other options on the net, draw in new people, and revitalize the current community in some ways. Sorry – I don't mean to go overboard with my excitement/brainstorming – I'd be playing classic chess all the time still too, it's just when I get to these kind of imaginings I can get carried away. Still, I don't think I'm entirely off base in my speculations.

Here is a silly ad for Chess960, I think they could've made more of a point at the end, but it is still nice to see guys like Kasparov participating...

And here is a short clip of Anand talking about Chess960...

I would love for fischerrandom to be added to this site. By the way, shame on whoever the tournament organizer was that coined the term 'chess960'. Love him or hate him, chess is always tied to Bobby Fischer and changing a word because of his outlandish beliefs imo is a little too '1984' for me =)
By the way you can play fischer-random today if you log on to ICC. As far as I know FICS also supports it. Both of these servers in fact support many other wild variants.
There are other good chess variants like Gothic chess and Capablanca chess. By the way, if you guys haven't checked out kungfuchess.com yet, imagine chess, but in real time!
(sorry for pumping so many other sites chess.com admins =) )

can be fun, but the seeks can be on the same, with a little icon or some, however when you enter to the game, you will see the startin position and read, there is when you ACCEPT the game.
ratings may be the same from the LIVE Chess?

Fischer's political views were only one factor in adopting "chess960" as an alternate name. Other issues included a weariness of attaching "the future of chess" (which I agree it might be) to the name of any player, living or dead; the problem of international comprehensibility (the word "Fischerandom" barely means anything in English, let alone other languages); and a worry by some people that the inclusion of the word "random" would make it sound soft or illogical compared to orthodox chess.
That said, I see the point of changing the name based solely on Fischer's outlandish behavior and pronouncements. He was a polarizing figure: nobody who cares about chess has lukewarm feelings toward him or his dual legacy of brilliance and madness. His name could actually serve as a hindrance to worldwide adoption of his invention.
