Inciteful: teacher_1, I find it hard to believe that you would ever start a forum thread that you would want to delete.
Insightful: teacher_1, there is a forum thread already started to address issues like this. It's a wish list, (#6 I think is the most reecently updated version.)
The reason is because we had several members who were deleting several threads that they had started, which were full of a lot of good and useful information, for whatever reason. Getting rid of this information in these cases diminished the community at large. In your case, just send a quick note to support on which ones you want gone, and we'll get rid of them for you.

Actually, don't use the lists anymore, there is an entire forum section now devoted to things folks want to see on the site. Use that instead.

My topics get HIJACKED time and time again. I try to close them out of RESPECT for this site, but I get slammed by the admin for trolling when all I want to do is CLOSE my TOPICS that have been hijacked.

It's called threadjacking. In some cases, many in fact, threads are improved in this manner.
Do you really think you need to tell us that you crave control?
Try starting with self-control. Exercise restraint in posting nonsense. Check your facts and logic before pressing "submit your comments," and embrace constructive criticism that contributes to your topic. You lose control when you lack a grasp of topics you open, and when you fail to acknowledge those that know more than you.
