disappearing when in a losing position.

Tonight I was playing Sanataz 27. And had earned a strong winning position when he disapeeared for fifteen minutes because he had eighteen minutes on the clock. After ten mi9nutes I went to another site on my computer toand returned after a few minutes to find my clock running. With me now involved in another important project, I tried to quicken my play with my overwelming advantage. I made a terrible blunder and lost the game because my opponent left the table from a losing position and I could not sit for eighteen minutes to have his clock run  out and claim my vityory. Tricked into thinking he wasd gone I left the site to later come bakc and find my own time running out. He had returned to the game hoping that I would give up before his eighteen minutes on the clock had disappeared. A very fine tactic on this site to be used by cheaters and the many members of this site.

Obviously you haveno life or thoughts processing in your head. You show an amazing ability to stare at a unmoving chessboard for that long when choosing a 30 minute game. It would be wise to raise your head and notic e there are things going on n the world around you happening at a fast pace and should be involved in.

Kaynight. I believe you have met your match... Or just someone who finds you really annoying. Your call.

Never multi-task during a chess game. I've run into this tactic. Some people are just sore losers, so they'll make you wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait to claim your win. When people do this to me, I just add them to my blocked list.

I play thirty-minute games too, and it sucks when this happens. Unfortunately though, I've got to agree with what's already been repeated in less delicate ways. If you decide to play 30-minute games, make sure you've got an hour to spare. If not, play a shorter game, or do some puzzles or something!

JJ - Just be thankful you don't have the same mentality as the cheater who did that to you. Can you imagine how sad he must be to sit around for that long, just to sneak in and claim a meaningless 'victory'?  The mind boggles about the lack of self-respect required to do that.

What overwhelming advantage? After 21. Nxf5 you're up a bishop against two pawns, and fighting a fork on b3. Not clear to me. I could very well be spending 10-15 minutes to calculate that position. Sorry, but I don't agree with you on this one. Don't know which position your opponent spent time calculating, but don't see a clear winning advantage in the game either. Haven't computer checked it, but why should I? There where no computers involved in the game. If I miss something, it's human. Seems like you lost because you blundered bad.
