I imagine it would. If I didn't like a theme, I'll be thinking about that, and it can make it harder to concentrate on my game. On the other hand, liking a theme too much can also be distracting, and make me look at it more than I should. I imagine it'd be hard to balance it all, so I haven't changed themes in a while.
Do Themes Affect Gameplay??

Yeah, same with the thinking.

Interesting question. Oftentimes I change themes a lot out of indecisiveness and my level of play seems to have a slight correlation to the theme I chose. For example, at first glance I immediately was sold on the sky theme (since blue is one of my 2 favorite colors) but later on I found out that it bothers me mid-game and hinders my performance, like it just doesn't feel right. Had the same experience too when I was going with the club pieces. I also had issues with the colored and wooden boards offered by this site since it just didn't blend in with the pieces in my eyes. As of now, this is the theme I use:
And so far, I'm digging it. I guess good old white and black for both board and pieces is the way to go.

I often practice on real boards for that reason. After only playing online, I find my eyes need to adjust! With that said, can't stand the 3D boards online either.
Do Themes Affect Gameplay in chess games?? I'm not sure although I do play better with light themes and backgrounds on my profile. What about you guys??
