Little things. Elo doesn't need to be all caps. It's not an abbreviation or acronym. Plus if we are being technical (which I am), chess.com and lichess.org use different versions of glicko.
The answer to your question is, it depends. I've seen several new players get to 1000 after a few months. Though for many, it could take 6 months to a year or longer. And some never make it. There are a lot of factors to how quickly you will improve. Time available to devote to chess, whether or not they study, if they play consistently each day, what a person's motivation is, medical issues getting in the way, etc.
So how long do you guys think it takes to reach 1000 ELO?
