I agree, e.p. adds a human touch to the game, its a beauty, it prevents the game from being mechanical.

If there were no en passant then chess would've died long ago. 100% of GM games would be drawn, 95% of IM games. 90% of FM games. 85% of master games. & a whopping 80% of amateur games. Almost all positions would get locked up beyond hope of anything happening. Whoever invented en passant was a genius.

en passant is no joke as it’s many victims have discovered. at this point i think everyone should remove their hats and give a minutes silence for the victims of en passant.
