thanks, martin.
i think this is another fail. there should be some way a member can view the total votes. of all the things that could influence behavior, i think it would be effective.

Maybe. I think it would create a bunch of topics asking "why is my sportsmanship score so low" or cause more tickets.
What comes to mind are topics asking why they're only getting black and hardly ever getting white.
Or why they're being exclusively paired with very high or low rated opponents.
Or how their rating has fallen ____ hundred points and it's chess.com's fault.
But then you check their stats and they're 100% full of it.
So one problem is people are ignorant and buy into their own BS e.g. "I'm only being paired with bad sports" or "I'm only disconnected when my position is winning." And that's a human problem not a chess.com problem.
martin, the alternative is what is in place now. nobody has a clue what their "score" is until they are placed with only other poor sports. i'm sure that generates tickets, too.
as an aside, how does one know if they have been paired with the other bad sports? and, what is the threshold for that?
But maybe if there were an FAQ or something that reassured people just because you're reported doesn't mean you'll suddenly be sanctioned. It's painfully obvious there will be reports against people for no good reason, and chess.com will account for that, but some people may need to be reassured.
But ofc nobody reads faqs 😂
Yeah, but when a whiny baby comes along the mods can just slap 'em with an FAQ link that carefully explains why they're a huge idiot.

What
That's just the average response that will follow 😂 Not even with a question mark.
at this point, anything is better than what they have now.
Some idiot will always come along to prove us both wrong. No limit to stupidity.

hah

How about they'll let you know what your hidden stats are, and some of the things that caused them to be that way (if mods have access to them) if you go through some long process (making it tedious and long for the user reduces work load on the mods).
dr.spud is muted yet again.
this time it is for a "bad" word written in a pm to a friend.
i thought there was going to be action taken so this would not happen?
Oh brother, not again ! We seem to be stuck in a remade version of the " Groundhog Day " movie, the same Horse-Manure over and over and over etc etc ---

also is this a permanent type of thing?
I hope I'm not beyond redemption 😪
i was reading a topic recently about a member who claims he is now only paired with "bad sports" due to people reporting him as a poor sport.
is there any way for us to see how others have reported us?
No.
