Is there currently a way for members to find out which staff/admin/moderators are online?  Is there a list somewhere?  This would be useful if someone wants to report something or ask a question urgently.

why did the trophies change?  the old (first set of two pages of possible trophies) was fine ....  now, you cannot give a 'good sport' trophy, or a 'thumbs up, good game' trophy.  cannot give a piece award either anymore.

did someone complain and they were removed? or did one of the programmers replace them in stead of adding a few more possible trophies?

These trophies you mentioned are available, but in order to give them, you must do so through the "give <opponent> a trophy on the game screen of a finished game. I cannot go to your profile, and give you a piece trophy through there, the only way to do that would be to finish a game with you and then give you that trophy after that game, through the game screen.

i think a World Chess Championship would be great. each country will have a representative that will be selected through preliminary tournament.

can you make the last move highlighted when playing the computer like in the live chess?

a "topic preview", i.e., when you float the mouse over a topic, a message window pops up with the first few lines of the topic in view.

I've seen this feature in several other forums. Similar to the feature on "online chess" where it previews the board when you float over the link to the game...

Agreed.... and maybe even a little more versatility in the "play the computer" section. i.e., being able to "replay" the game for analysis.

Is there any way to see what an opponent was rated when you began a game or to find the date/time a game started?

The last move is listed just above the top left corner of the board...hope this helps.

I'd like to see "Fischer random chess (960)" in the "Starting Position" list of "Create a New Game" dialog. In memory of great master and for more fun! Be in time!

How about the option to open up seeks with pre-set opening positions -- starting on move 3 of the KGA for example.

*EDIT*: Erik has shown me the error of my ways -- I see it now.  Thanks Erik.

you know what might be fun... a king of the table or something along those lines. Where you have to beat out the champ as white and then defend the table/board as black. I can see that being a fair amount of work to get started but I'm sure it would get used a lot.

I still think that the "skip game for now" feature would be a HUGE plus for those of us that play many games at a time. Even better would be a list of ongoing games on the side of the screen while we're looking at a game, so that we could navigate between games without having to go back to the online chess page.

YES! Awesome ideas! I completely agree.

Now that the tournament section is ready, It would be great to search members by rating range so we can invite them to join a specific tournament.

What I see at the top of the page is a large area between chess.com and our screen name. I think this area could be used as an area for broadcasting messages as there is a problem with this area already as the site admins know; ie@ you either have to constantly update or even go to anothers nic to receive messages! The box is unecessary all you need is text! And what is with the broadcast notes to everyone??? Not correct, makes no sense and should be removed. While surfing the site no messages are visible unless you go back to your profile and refresh, unaccepable! This site needs to streamline streamline and streamline to become one of the top three or attempt to compete with the top three otherwise it will be plowed under with too much code too many bugs and bascially too much to support the servers and the money required. Harsh maybe, truthful YES!

You tell me what other chess site has had this much available to its members at this early of a stage in its development.  Sure, there may be other site out there with more stuff, more features, etc. but I guaran-frickin'-tee you that they did not have all the stuff that this site has at its young infancy.

Terrific, fantastic, so what. Features galore do not make a great chess site see playchess.com otherwise known as chessworld.net! If 95% are non paying the endless stream of this and that will be a vacuum if no gets on board! So when does it matter along the line if you, the masses, are continually demanding this or that yet like a bunch of welfare cases yet oh I am sorry I am out of cash now? Typical, see it everytime that the most people that demand the most features are the least likely to pay for it. I don't have a checking account, I don't like paypal, I don't understand the conversion rate and blah de blah! Instead of the constant stream of site improvement KnightNotHorse and the rest of you, why don't you just pay to stay and stop looking upon the rest of us for doing so!! You know what I guaran-frickin'-tee that 95% of all these 21 pages of ideas will go to me first before they come to you or not at all!

Whoa.  Just whoooooooa.  I do agree with what you are saying, definitely, and I must say that the non-paying members (yes, I know, that includes me, but hopefully not for long) have probably got the best deal going here.  Other chess sites don't allow nearly as much freedom or features for non-paying guests, but hopefully such generosity will turn non-paying guests into paying ones.  But yes, Erik and Co. know that work needs to be done, so what's with the "harsh" attitude?  I am sure the way you presented your arguement is a godsend to all the admins, and I want to personally thank you for waking them up and yelling at them; by the way, you were fantastic in "Full Metal Jacket"!  As for the Admins, its not like they have been working night and day to release these awesome tournaments, with a to-do list about 10 miles long.  However, I do agree that you get the award for the least constructive criticism. Undecided

Vote chess, its annoying at times.

Why?  People that play it like regular chess.

Why is this bad?  Because they don't get any benefit from the collaberation, and it brings the entire team down.  While the other team has the same problem, this is still highly fustrating to both.

I don't know if this problem will fix itself, but there has to be something to guide people into not doing such foolish things, sorry to be a bit patronizing.  Now i'm just saying "do not just simply vote what you see to be a good move, collaberate with us then vote.  This is not regular chess, united we are stronger".  But it doesn't matter if i do it on every page people still do it -.-;;
