Finding it hard (very slow) to get paired for a game.

Have noticed this recently; chess.com isn't pairing me for games. I've tried on my Chessnut Air board (using their app, which is essentially a web-view to the chess.com site), and also the chess.com app, and the chess.com website. No matter what I try, it's just not pairing me.

Wondering if my account has been limited, or is there something else going on?

I'm asking staff about that

Thanks Martin, will you post here what they say please? I'm wondering it it's affecting lots of us, maybe servers are overloaded?

@cosmic4z you should be good now. However, you may not want to play with the eboard as that may flag your account again.

Thank you Martin.

Did they say my account was flagged? I did get in touch with support, and just got a list of things to try back, none of which were applicable to my setup (fast-ish internet, fast laptop, no other apps running, etc). I'll mail them back and ask if the Chestnut Air could be the issue; would be surprised if that's the case, as it's supported in the first place (at least for Rapid games).

I'm wondering if I've aborted games (before they start) and that's caused my account to be flagged? Hope chess.com will be able to provide feedback related to my account status etc.

Everything works fine on the other site by the way!

Thanks again.

Happens to me for bullet. Takes a much longer time. Maybe they are lacking players at 2000 elo. sad.png

Why am I being paired with players way below my ratings that will not only destroy my skills development but also pull down my current ratings???

You can set a custom where you want to fight opponents higher than your elo rating or the same as your elo rating. That's what I do to avoid mass tilts.

Something with the way the Chessnut boards communicate is causing issues. Aborting too often can certainly cause a similar result but I believe the board use was the issue.

Hi Martin,

I have the exact same issue : i usually play with a chessnut board, and since few weeks ago, it takes several minutes searching for an opponent, and when it finds it, it's usually way lower than me (ie : 400 while i'm 1000).

Could you please have a look too ? It would be very appreciated.

Thanks !

Please look into this. I am waiting for delivery of my Chestnut Evo. If it has a problem with this site, then that's a serious problem.

I opened a support ticket, and it seems like a known issue they're actually investigating. They reseted my disconnection rate for the time beeing.

Hi,

Could you post back here please, with anything of interest to other Chestnut board users. Thanks! happy.png

HI,

A small update...

My issue seems resolved - for now - since they reseted my disconnection rate. Special thanks to the support team, and Cassio in particular.

Hey, I made a custom game. Reply if you want to play. It's a 60-point buy all pieces 12x12 game.

At some times of day, waiting to get paired for a 15|10 game for opponents over 2000 is painfully slow: quite frequently over 5 minutes.

What is more frustrating is that when I get tired of waiting so play on (free) Lichess instead, I get paired almost immediately. I am thinking of not renewing because of it.

I actually have the same issue, also have a chessnut board, and can't seem to get any more pairings, where I used to get them in seconds.

There's an issue with the way those boards interact with the site that is likely causing your issue. if you haven't contacted support, you should and they can fix it, but if you continue using the board it will likely happen again

Seems like they resolved the issue at least for iOS and PC. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02WZqTUVTq26zjcq9b5TzkRTTHUNdJB6v8MYNYfRYA8wdHot9Xy5u1YicKJv3zsWVGl&id=100066558527326 But, might be needed to contact chess support to reset the disconnection rate.

I also have noticed the same thing. Finding a game against a simular rated opponent is very hard after using the chessnut board. I hope you are looking into this, so it would be possible to use the board on chess.com.
