Babs' closing her account?

I hope she doesn't.

But if she does, I hope she'll be back... soonest.

tryst

stats_man, you reported abuse, and then sent me a message that I will be kicked off chess.com?

:'(

Babs, I recall first experiencing you in live chess not long after I joined this site. My involvement in Chess Nuts brought me in more frequent contact with you. You were among the sweetest on this site and helped create it's current culture. My disappointment is easily quelled when I realize that you are able to bring magnitudes more of that sweetness to your own family and friends.

If I see a glow in my Western sky, I'll know it's coming from Perth, from you and your family.

P.S. to anyone whom I had any arguments with, not many people, but you know who you are, I don't hold any grudges and sincerely wish you all well

Babs thank's you for apologizing. Have a great time!

Are you apologizing to your wife again, Kobe Bryant? Shouldn't you just hold another press conferance and give her another diamond ring?Laughing

Well.......................................

Babs was here for a time and while here touched many, some very deeply, I am thankful for the time she was here and I am also thankful that she has a family and business to tend to, we all should be as prosperous. I understand and support her decision, and one should consider the time she was logging in and be thankful for that. Phoey on depressing thoughts, is that what she means to you????????? a source of sadness????????? I certainly expect not, If your life has been enriched by her, then be enriched and and celebrate that your life crossed her path if but for a time and if only on the internet via this site.

Well, my best to everyone here in this group and chess.com for making such a thing as this possible

sincerely to you all

victhestick

Hope all is well.  We have been here before, and hope we are better for it.  I want you to know how wonderful you are, and that your presence has touched many for the better.  Go and get your real life back on track and when (if) you return expect to find me.  Nothing is more important then our families, do not let the cyber world threaten what is really important.

Always,

Vic

and now babs i up for the biggest challenge, actually keeping herself away from here... :)

Oh man this is sooo out of character for her. I can't believe she'd close her account, she's never done anything like this before. It's awful, I'm sure glad she's not just doing this because she's a drama queen but because this is real this time.

It's a shame she isn't sitting at home hitting F5 on this thread right now. No, no, she's nobly moving on and away from this community.

Yeah?

Yeah?

I did not know that upon exit you can F5 your goodbye thread like  being invisible at your funeral.  How did you know Rae1?

Rae1

Cause that's what I did at mine, Vic. It's true. F5 is a nice refresh. Reloads the thread when you're lurking. I'm trying not to imagine her consternation at seeing this post, which she will as soon as I click submit... oh wait, there it is. Yeah. Aww she's pissed...

Stats_man, have you heard the saying "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all". Or you can't help yourself to attack people? You are attacking everyone posting here by saying "go meet some real friends". So you have no friends on the internet? I can see why!
Just because people have friends online doesn't mean they don't have friends offline. Seems you are the one who needs to get a life if you spend your energy attacking people who were not attacking you.  I see what tryst means when she mentioned your whiney need of attention. And now you reported her for calling you a jerk. I think this whole forum would be thinking it. If they all said it are you going to report all of them? I bet even chess.com staff would think it too right now. Can you please not abuse this forum that is not about you and let the people who wish to say bye to babs do so. You said you didn't know Babs very well, well many did know her very well. She was a very giving person and gave so much to many, helped so many. You can help people through words whether face to face or in written prose. Just let the people she touched thank her without attacking anyone please. She has been a member here for a long time and was a member of many groups and many through her in live chess too because she was always joking there with people and she made many friends from there. Babs has helped many people cope with some problems they had or get over some obstacles they had. And she was always knew how to make people smile and laugh. She had to close her account because so many knew her and she always couldn't say no to people when they needed help or they wanted to say hi, she always had to say hi back. It got to be too much for her in the end with the amount of people she knew here. I hope you will now leave this forum, you are not welcome here.

Oh, Babs...  I'm going to miss you...  I fear chess.com is never going to be quite the same again...  But I understand the addiction of chess and the addiction of chat -- and I understand the importance of setting priorities and following through on the most important ones.

Good luck, Babs!  Fare thee well...  May you always get to play White in the final round!

I miss the old days when you two were like the mom and dad of chess.com.

Aha, another good-looking and gifted chessplayer to fill the gap :)

Babs, you will be missed here at chess.com but the "connect", in whatever form, shall remain.

Two quotes to share:

1st from Dr Seuss.

“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”

2nd from an Irish Blessing.

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”

See Hazama that is a very well put argument for disliking my opinion. And yes, I reported the user (cant remember the name) as it is a violation of site rules.

I respect your opinion and you were able to do it without being too personal.

As far as being welcome, my membership on this site makes me welcome to comment on whatever I see fit, subject to following the site rules. Sorry, but this is a fact.
