Help with playing games against friends.

do I have to have a membership to play rapid, or play live games against friends. I request to play friends but i cant, and it read players isnt available for online games. Is that cause Im not a member or because they are not one? Any advice or link with this issue would be appreciated. Thanks Chess Community

You are already a member. You do not need to be a premium member to play against your friends.
However, you can't play live chess against players who aren't online in live chess. Also, even if they are in live chess, they may already be playing someone else.
If any of your chess.com "friends" are truly friends of yours, why not message them and ask when they might be available?
