I do not agree with you. This site works very well. I haven't had any issues except for a few minor cracks.
How about stop wth the bots, and focus on fixing the site?
I think it's insulting to see new things being added while the original doesn't even work.
Time for a new thread anyway although things haven't changed much

I think making bots every other month will bring more people, more games, more traffic, more everything so why not stop it untill you fix the site?

The people creating the bots aren't the same people that work on the parts of the site getting optimizations or increases in capacity, at least for the most part.

@satkaya
It's not an argument it's a fact, the site is having issues the have acknowledged the fact times. You may not be having issues but the majority of people are having, or at least have been having very regular and very repeatative issues.
Don't take my owed for it take chess .coms

@martin_stahl
The people creating the bots may not be the same people bit the bots will bring more strain on the servers, especially how the site is set up. The site has been made in a way where if one of the many different parys such as the forums, comments, games experiences a high load of requests then the entire site feels it.
Again, this is the words from a systems analyst not me.
The bots will without question impact the servers as they are crunching more games. It's not that it's the same people, it could be a complete different department but it's still the chess.com servers being given more to deal with when it's struggling at best and failing at worst without the extra bots.

I do play on lichess.
The forum is for people to talk and discuss things. If you have nothing of value to say then say nothing.
Grow up

The bots are just a page load, like pretty much any other page load or game. The bot code runs client side, so once the game is started, it's not causing load.

Now, thanks to Chess.com more people than ever will experience the game we love made even better by an additional element - a big boost of luck! Server timeouts are a big win for the little guy, a chance to keep them in the game, a brilliant way to expand the chess world to be more inclusive and a place where everybody has an opportunity to win.

they can make bots all they want and cheaters are being banned as well. Don't you see they can multi-task?
What does cheating have to do with any of this? Bit of a non sequitur I would say.
As for "they can multitask" well evidently they couldn't, hence it taking forever to solve the issue.
If they were able to multitask then we would have had the fix and the bots at the same time and this post would not have been made.
Your entire argument is all over the place mate.

Well that's good to hear. I'm glad things are changing. Still rather they focused fully on this rather then less important things like extra features.
Nothing wrong with improving things and adding features/bots but I still think that getting the site to run consistently is more important then anything else.

I just wonder if this thread could get somebody from the site itself to better explain if the bots have settings you can tinker with or not -its just page load and the bot runs client side? So it connects with my computer and uses it to run? Is that what that means? I have a old chess on disc Fritz and it will analyze (I am glad this site has spell check) almost as long as you let it ...which gives it a real edge nowadays with processer speed -it would be nice if site timeouts were set so it would prevent all new games from starting and waited for all current games to end and would warn games that a timeout is currently happening so postpone and save game could be a potion or you could agree to the draw...I hope I am not to far off the actual situation and am not just being annoying.
