"Oh, damn, Chess.com is gone... that sucks..."
That's what I would probably say
LOL I'll probably get more emotional than that
What would you say if you clicked on Chess.com, and a screen appeared that said something like, "Chess.com has been shut down indefinitely"?

I would, most likely, have a nervous breakdown, and become a recluse like Fischer.
I think I would find a new destructive hobbies to take out my angry and then make a petition to bring back chess.com but if chess.com went down would chesskid.com also go down
I'm not a stranger to destructive hobbies that's for sure, but I would consider going sky diving without a chute if this place ever went down
I'd cry myself to sleep at night! Search the phone book for Erik and order my money back!
And then I would go to ICC and still cry myself to sleep!
I've already commented this in the poll!
- WOULD YOU GIVE US BACK THE MONEY?
A little disturbed that Erik is the one asking.
yeah seriously. i'd be really bummed. really, really bummed, but i'm curious why the (what i call) passive/aggressive method of giving yourself props. it seems to me that the membership here is very vocal about how much we love and rely on this site. erik, why do you need more confirmation of that. it's like your wife asking you over and over to tell you she looks sexy or if you love her etc. most of us already tell/show how much we love this site. why isn't that good enough?

we're measuring this against an industry standard metric. we're just trying to quantifiably gauge how people feel about the site. relax :)
InternationalChess - We know, we're just having a bit of fun with it that's all. It's all hypothetical..we know that won't happen..right everyone? :)
If chess.com dissappeared, it would be one of those days people will always remember...where they were...what they were doing.
It's a story you would tell your grandkids. They would probably write songs about it....maybe a movie...but who would play Erik?
I would probably just stare at a blank screen for a couple of days...wishing I could play just one more game.
I'd worry, "What will become of my points?"
I may have made this up....nevermind.
I think if the site went down completely, I think there would be 2 million members marching to the chess.com Server. and What will I do with the spare hours that I use on chess.com
