How disappointed would you be if Chess.com disappeared?

I promised myself I would keep a low profile on this ID, but the last few days I've been sucked in to the forums. It's impossible to go cold turkey and stay away from the threads, especially one that's getting to be as much fun as this one lol

What! I've spent too much time and money just for it to crash!

ChessMarkstheSpot

I know there is about 2.2 million members here, that's like a small country where everyone is unemployed LOL

Think of all of the productivity lost to time spend on chess.com by people at work....

Erik, I think your site may be a drain on the economy.  Can you please make it less addictive?

I never had an office job before but if I did, I would've probably been fired from it a long time ago because of this site. If I'm not on it after 45 mins or so I start shaking. It's like caffeine withdrawal just on a higher scale lol

If I caught somebody on this, or any other non work related site, when they were on the clock, I'd can em.

Most bosses would can people surfing the net during work. Unless, in this case, if it was some online chess company or store that just focused on the chess world. Either than that, instant pink slip and no severance pay.

Loafers! Just a bunch of patzers and loafers! lol (sound familiar, kenneth? lol...still love that quote!) I'd shoot someone dead on the spot (music to Mark's ears lol) if I caught them screwing around online during working hours! I know there was some scary statistic on how many people DO do that. It's no wonder I have to make an average of ten repetitious phone calls in a chain when TRYing to resolve a problem with some screw-up by some company! And even then---the problem MIGHT get resolved.

At least here, on the almighty, all-powerful, omnipresent chess.com there is no loafing by the powers-that-be. Amen ;)

It's a story you would tell your grandkids. They would probably write songs about it....maybe a movie...but who would play Erik?

They would cast the only actor that could possibly handle a role of this caliper...Dolph Lundgren...

Gert-Jan

very dissapointed. I like to play people from other parts of the world and reading articles from all over the world.

i think as a customer survey a better question would have been

how important is chess.com in your chess life?

would have caused less panic methinks.
