Depends what type of wheels you have on your car.
How hard is the road ahead

Depends what vehicle you are traveling in:
Motorcycle | 🏍 | Fast but unprotected* | Probably a hard trip |
Car | 🚗 | Medium speeds and well protected* | Probably a more comfortable but longer trip |
Truck | 🚚 | Slow speeds and very well protected* | Probably a long and steady trip |
House Car | 🚞 | Very slow speeds and extremely well protected* | Probably a very long and comfortable trip |
Rocket | 🚀 | Extreme speeds and risky* | Probably a short nerve-racking trip |
Sail Boat | ⛵ | Very, very slow speeds and very risky* | Probably a very long and dire trip |
Cruiser | 🚢 | Slow speeds and well protected* | Probably a long comfortable trip |
Bullet Train | 🚅 | Fast speeds and decently protected*| Probably a short and comfortable trip |
Steam Train | 🚂 | Slow speeds and okly protected* | Probably a long and uncomfortable trip |
Airplane | 🛫 | Fast speeds and non protected* | Probably a average time and averagely comfortable |
Super Jet | 🛩 | Very fast speeds and non protected* | Probably a short head spinning trip |
Bicycle | 🚲 | Very slow speeds and very un protected* | Probably a long and very exhausting trip |
See it does make a difference.

What? You thought it would be as easy as walking, ask question, sit down and wait for answer, get answer, say thank you (maybe), get up and walk away from all this just like that??

Seriously Mi_Amigo the only way myself or anyone else can honestly tell you is none of us can say
how hard it will be for you to reach your goals. The better you prepare yourself each step of the way,
the more realistic achieving your goal becomes. Prepare yourself well and Godspeed my _friend !
Now that I've achieved my goal of reaching 1700 before 2020, I thought about having one for 2020, but I wanted to take input from the 1700+ people here, how much more time does it take to get better from where I am
no idea, but since nobody's posted this song yet ...

So you guys will tell me everything except what I asked
The only thing for sure is rating numbers are not linear, they are exponential.
1400 to 1700 is way easier than 1700 to 2000.
1700 to 2000 is way easier than 2000 to 2300.
People stop improving cos real life kick in and can't spend a lot of times for study. Getting older is also another reason.

I didn't ask if you could predict my future I only asked you guys how long it took you
2-3 years for me from 1700-1800 to 2000. I played many OTB tournaments in my teen but not Fide rated. When I first started playing here, my initial rating was 1700-1800.

I didn't ask if you could predict my future I only asked you guys how long it took you
It took me about 6 months from 0 - 1121.
About 3 months from 1100 - 1397
About 2 months from 1397 - 1500
About 4 months from 1500 - 1650
About 6 months from 1650 -1800
About 10 months from 1800 - 1900
About 8 months from 1900 - 2000
So far I have spent 18 months in the 2000s
And so about 4 and 3/4 years later I am around 2030
But I think in my opinion I rose quicker than average

So you guys will tell me everything except what I asked
For once I actually answered someone's question without trolling
