How much $ per page view?

I was wondering what the range is of what the advertizers pay per page view.

TheGrobe once postulated $.003 per page view as I recall but I'm still wondering if that is the true figure for us here.

Does a page view mean that it was just loaded onto a page and might have been glanced at (or ignored), or does it have to be clicked on or somehow otherwise engaged?

Considering how cash-strapped most chessplayers seem to be (judging by numerous discussions on the forum), I'd expect maybe $0.00000000000001 per click.

each 1,000 pageviews is worth roughly $0.15.

Especially if they don't have to be unique page views.  When someone is zipping through their correspondence games making moves they can be hitting the same page again and again very quickly.  On a given day, the same ad can keep showing up.  Sooner or later you'd think the advertiser would understand I'm not buying any of their funky chicken.

Right now there's an ad from American Express trying to convince me that 1.3% is high-yield.
