What are you even talking about? Pushing pawns is how you activate pieces pushing pawns is how you win.
You're losing to pawn pushers ?! You should be ashamed of yourself, you can't punish these people. Maybe you should try becoming a pawn pusher see what happens. You may start winning.

Yes, pushing pawns too much is bad- however you just HEARD that it’s bad. If you cannot understand WHY it’s bad- you cannot beat them. You must learn WHY it’s bad to do this. If you understand how to properly exploit the weaknesses they very often times create, you can get yourself an easy win.

If pushing pawns is a sign of not imporiving, then devolping your knight, bishop, rook, and queen is also a sign of not improving
