Increment in rapid needed

No time to end winning position. Why 30 minutes rapid game has no increment.
Even 1 second would be good.
How people can practise for classical chess tournament if here is no increment.

They have had increment choices for a long time. Very few people choose the time controls with increment..

They used to have 45 45 . Very few players chose it.

They now have 15 10 and 10 5 available in rapid. I have tried them but you typically have to wait a long time for a game

15|10 is better than 30|0.
15|10 is the official rapid time control like for the World Rapid Championship.
Apparently many people here like to win by flagging and avoid increment.
Or they are nostalgic about the previous century with analog clocks.

Try 15 + 10. It's much better
