iPhone feature requests

Great job on the iPhone app! It's my primary method for playing now. However, as great as the app is, I still thought it might be useful to make a thread where we can all discuss the features we would like to see in future versions. Below is my current list. Feel free to add to it. Thanks again for the app!

* On launch, bring me back to the same tab and game I was last on after quiting the app.

* Too much of the piece and target square are hidden under your finger when moving them. The pieces should be above your finger just like the pin in maps.

* Flash the chat icon in a game when the opponent sends a message you haven't read yet.

* I'd love to see notifications when it is my turn to make a move. It appears you currently have to launch the application to figure that out.

* The game cycle button (double triangles) shouldn't take you back to the online tab once you get passed the last game. It should take you back to the first game

* The black circle by a players name when it is their turn is hard to see

When making a move on online chess I love to be able to see where I moved the piece to decide if thats a good move, so instead of a popup covering most of the screen asking if I would like to make it my move, have the button in the corner.

 Second that.

Also agreed it's basically the makings of a excellent app, once the bugs are fixed and some of the requested features are added. In the meanwhile its great to be able to play when out and about, so many thanks and congratulations on this great start.

Also:

1. In the Videos section could the name of the lesson be wrapped, as currently significant words are missing!

2. Again, in the Videos section please provide a search mechanism - this is VERY important to me!

I totally agree:

- change chat color or something similar when a new message has been sent

- push notifications for EVERY move made

- the black pieces are hard to see on the grey/black background

- change the confirmation pop up to another place, so that you can still see the chess board

I came across some other ideas:

- Why not integrate the chess.com forum in the app?

- In the help section there should be something about the membership options.

- As already mentioned by some one else in another thread make the free podcasts available in the app (although personally I would love to see the movies get accessible to a certain amount for the lower membership holders)

- Searchable movies and marker if movie has already been watched or not.

- Show the squares where the selected piece can move.

That's it for the moment I guess :p

Yep, one idea would be to fill the white chat bubbles with a green color whenever a chat message has been sent.

Moreover, I would like to be able to play in free mode. When I'm reading books I'm using the "Setup Position" option. But the problem is that I can't go back or forward in moves. Moreover the whole bottom part is useless. Once I have set up the position, I don't need the pieces, the castling and empty/fill board options. I would like to see the notation of moves made and pieces taken instead. Will this be implemented? I would really love that!

Chess.com should fix the way videos are listed on the iPhone ...  Those considering getting a membership for videos on the iPhone are going to be disappointed when they see the way it's currently done.

As in... do the whole section in landscape and generally allow folks to see more of the descriptive text?  You're making folks guess here a bit.  :)

Yes, some video content for free members would be great. And the whole video title should be readable.

Yes, show ALL the descriptive text so the ten videos titled "Rook Endgames: Beginner to Master, Part * "  are differentiated.  Having to open them to see which is which is annoying.
