Is chess.com considered social media?

The community in the forums is much smaller than most social media’s though. I encounter the same people most of the time. But I would still consider it social media, just on a smaller scale.

I'm afraid yes because you still chat with others and post forums with typical conversation stuff. Anyways, I think social media took many people to an online world, which a lot of people like me meet a lot of dishonest people and trolls.
