great points kendo man. it is so disappointing to play - well or not - and have someone act hurtfully or rudely... takes some of the fun away - if only temporarily
Lack of manners

Personally, I don't think the winner has to be the one to offer a rematch. If I beat someone, and they want a rematch, they can ask for one. And if I have time, I'll probably accept.

Beyond the "gg", some people actually ridicule you after a loss. Even if they had blundered themselves during the game.
1500 players are the worst! When you get higher it will be better.
1500 players (not all off course) have learned some, and they think they are GM material allready!

You have to stick around long enough to type gg for someone to ask for a rematch! Lol. I find people win and run at this level.

I mopped the floor with this one guy 2 straight games; the first game he complained that I played en passant, declaring it wasn't legal, the second he said I was lucky then proceeded to abandon the game! Go figure.

That I agree with, and I try not to run after a game. Though sometimes, I'm in a rush and so close Firefox as soon as a game ends, win or lose.

I never know what to say. I'm socially awkward and never feel right with cliche conversation. I don't think I'm rude. But I have been interpreted as such over the years.
I've noticed as I've moved up in rating that people lose their manners. When I was a 1200-1300 rated player and playing that level of player, everyone for the most part took the time to type gg after a loss, offer a rematch if they won, and say thanks after a series. As I've moved up to the 1300-1500 rating I find people won't offer a gg after a loss, nor offer a rematch after a win. I just wonder why that is?
