It is truly unacceptable. I know from experience that this sucks. Even if you're winning a game, but then then THE LAG! then I lost on time.
Lag here is the WORST
Sort:
I have the same problem. Example one: After I have made a move, my clock keeps running for 5-15 sec, only then it switches to my opponent's turn. Or simply 15 sec drop for nothing, after making a move nearly immediately 3-5 sec which is in no relation to the time I have spent. No Premium no Fun, Apparently...

Impressive the argument that because it’s free, we should praise whatever happens here. Lag does not only exists. It is EVIDENTLY controlled and programmed by whatever algorithm. And everybody understands what it means “DEDICATED SERVERS” for paid accounts.
Sorry, but instructions do not help to hide that lag is purposely used by chess.com Support that deny hundreds of clear complaints is just ashaming.

There is no purposely created lag, though advertising can introduce some lag.

Complainers here are not paying members. Does that mean it is the advertising causing lag? I normally have no lag issue at all.

I have played +3000 live games with my free account and never had problems with lag on this site. And in my house we don't even have high speed conection.

Parallel thinking. "Dedicated servers".
If you have a poor internet connection, like me, then lag is always a problem. It is however somewhat better on you-know-where, simply because the codebase is better and not based on slow javascript frameworks.
This will never change on chess.com (and partially they can not change it unless they overtake my internet provider) as long as there are enough customers who pay the bills.

You missed that discussion. The moderators didn't like the specifics. They prefer vague general discussions. Not all chess sites have equal lag times, disconnections, and options.
