Learned my lesson

Sometimes in chess you find a beautiful move that works in all lines except for one refutation.  I've always heard that if you really can't get around the refutation, then you need to abandon that beautiful move and play something else.  Well I just had a chance to play a nice exchange sacrifice that I couldn't resist, despite it being refuted by an in-between move.  I hoped my opponent wouldn't see it, but sure enough he did and now my position sucks.  Lesson learned, I guess.

Oh no! That's called "Hope Chess" by Dan Heisman.

Yeah, it is hope chess.  Although since I just play for fun anyway, I think it's ok to take wild chances sometimes.
