That is a really impressive haul, especially over just 2,200 games. I am at nearly 10k games and I am still missing some, some of which I suspect I just likely will never get.
My prediction is that the next flag you will cross off your list is Honduras. In my experience, ther are more Honduran players than Nicaraguans and Salvadorans, so I think you'll get that soon. The rest will be pretty random, IMO, though Guam, Rwanda, Djibouti, Samoa, and I believe Surname will be in the first half of those to vanish.
Hey everyone! 👋
Just wanted to share something fun I’ve been working on for a while; I’m on a mission to collect every passport flag on Chess.com! As of today, I’ve reached 220 out of 244 countries/territories, and I’m in the final stretch of this quest.
Some of the rarest flags I’ve managed to snag include:
Every new flag has its own story. Sometimes it’s a great game, sometimes it’s just a kind word from a stranger across the world (shoutout to the Anguilla player who said: “Good luck on your quest my friend. Have a great day!”, that made my day!).
Flags I Still Need (24 left):
Cayman Islands
Central African Republic
Djibouti
Dominica
Equatorial Guinea
Falkland Islands
Gibraltar
Grenada
Guam
Guinea-Bissau
Honduras
Côte d’Ivoire
Marshall Islands
Mayotte
Niger
Palau
Rwanda
St. Vincent & Grenadines
Samoa
São Tomé and Príncipe
Sint Maarten
Suriname
South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
Tonga
If you’re from one of these places or know someone who is, I’d love to play a game and get that passport stamp! (Any time control works!)
This journey has been awesome:
I’ve played cheaters (and reported them, and saw them banned 😅)
I’ve met super chill and supportive people
And I’ve discovered just how global the chess community really is.
Let’s finish this off strong!
If you’re doing something similar, or want to start, let’s connect and trade tips!
Thanks to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far! 💙
