Never Ending Spam on Daily Puzzle Forums

Lately the spam on the Daily Puzzle forums is worse than ever!  Not only is there still a constant battle for the first comment and the first page, but now for some reason there is a battle for comment #145 as well as never ending battling for the last comment.  Amongst all this nonsense there are also completely blank comments. 

I guess the moderators have totally given up trying to monitor and clean up this mess.  They did a good job of eliminating the non-chess pertaining cartoons but fall short in all of the above mentioned areas. 

At one point there was a particular moderator who seemed to be deleting so much that even something of mine was deleted, a sarcastic insult that was taken completely out of context.  Why the major change from then to now?

If this has been covered in another recent forum I apologize, as I do not often check other forums.

Ever since I stopped posting, it's a mess.  Thank you for trying to keep its quality up, though.

All I can do on a public forum is try to bring the issue to everyone's attention.  Ultimately it's up to the staff to put an end to it.

And despite being banned for always trying to be first, even trying to post before the puzzle, at least you added high quality content related to the puzzle.

I'm dealing with it just fine thanks.  Believe me I'm not losing any sleep over it. 

I have nothing to lose by bringing it up.  Maybe it will stop.  Probably not.  And I will continue to read comments as well as post relevant and helpful comments like I have been doing for years, regardless of the spam.

It was much worse some months ago, with the yui spammers on rampage.

No thanks.  Unfortunately the odds are strongly against it stopping.

That was annoying as well, and what's going on now is just as annoying.

There has been moderation on many of the blank and counting posts (to get to 145).

This time it will also stop, nothing lasts long in this site. When and how? I don't know. In my opinion they will ultimately get bored. 

But before that happens...well you shouldn't rely on moderators to deal with this; they would do something if the spammers were advertising something, but they are only posting idiotic comments...which is clearly allowed (just take a look at the rest of the forums)

Anyways, when these spammers are gone, others will take their place. It's the cycle of spam.

I mean the retard who claims to be the official husband of a cartoon, and his footman (maybe a sockpuppet?).
