Hi Erik

Toolbar looks great. One odd thing. When I use the login button it tells me I have used the wrong password, but when I input it again it logs in ok. I have tried this three times from the toolbar, so its not finger trouble. I am using internet explorer 8, although I doubt the browser version makes a difference in this case.

The only thing that I noticed was that there is a red button below by my Profile Picture, when I press on it, it says that I'm already signed in. Maybe that could be fixed, please?

The red bottom is to luck out of chess.com, it is not showing whatever you are on line or not.In fact if it is red you are lucked in and when you press it you luck out.

I can't believe how brilliant this toolbar is! Absolutely amazing, and I'm not even a fan of adding specialist toolbars on browsers!  Nice one Erik. SurprisedCool

I'm with SoP: I don't like adding toolbars to my browser but this one's a must.

It ended my brief flirtation with Chrome and I'm back to Firefox which loads v..e..r..y slowly on my laptop but it's worth the wait.

Thanks, Erik. A very useful addition.

frustrated with the new chess.com toolbar.

once installed into my firefox browser, - I don't need weather and the other options it offers me - but it continues to offer those options EVERY TIME I power up and open firefox.

Obviously, it is me doing something wrong - or the popup box wouldn't show up everytime.

how do I get rid of that danged thing?   it is an annoying popup.     alternatively,  I'll just remove the chess.com login bar.

^ goto Tools -> add-ons -> click on Options next to the chess.com toolbar

Whatever's causing you problems should be removable from there (it's probably some sort of Alert)

Ret on the far left of the toolbar where it says 'Chess.com' there is a downward pointer drop down. Click on that down pointer then choose ' Toolbar Options'.

You can remove parts of the toolbar you don't want, like weather.

Or, click on the very top of the browser where it says 'View' then on Toolbars,

and un-check where it says Chess.com

Refresh the page and the Chess.com toolbar won't show at all. But if you want it back, just click on View, Toolbars, and re-check where it says Chess.com

I'm using Safari (5.0.4) on 10.6.7. After I installed the toolbar it wouldn't let me log in. After submitting my username/password it would wait a second, then go back to requiring a login. I'm not sure if it is supposed to or not, but the login button also never changed colors. Within a few minutes of attempting to login, Safari would crash, so after a few times of this I uninstalled the toolbar. Unfortunately I forgot to get a screenshot of the error.

Has this error been seen before? Any thoughts on how to fix it? I also hate toolbars, but this is one toolbar I really desire.

The original post was made in 2009, and I'm pretty sure that the demand for the toolbar wasn't worth the development effort of keeping it up to date for all of the new versions of even the most common web browsers that are available out there. Locking this thread.
