New animation graphics are so childish

What's with the new graphics?
I feel like I'm playing candy crush.

I guess I need to go to lichess now where adults play? lol

You can turn that off:

Settings > Board and Pieces and toggle Pre/Post Game Board Animation off and Save

As far as I'm aware, if you're seeing the animations, you should have the setting.

I'm seeing both in beta but don't see either out of beta.

Settings -> Themes -> Turn off 'Enable Special themes'
This seems to take care of this

The option is suddenly gone for me? I had the toggle just earlier today (15 minutes before)?

The feature was temporarily removed as the setting was missing for some members in the main settings. Until that's fixed it won't be available.
