I think ChessKid.com is great. My two kids aged 4 and 5 play and use it all the time. No TV or video games at home and no requests for them (Yet) ChessKid.com Highly recommended!!

It is really irritating that there is no conditinal move. Even the kids ranked within 50 would playout a singled lined mate in 3 to delay the game.

hey chemwong, glad to find you here! i'm a new member of ics forum and i read some of your posts there. we are trying to revive the forum so i invite you to check it out.

This.  Its a common request.  I realize there may be some difficulty with the connection but better integration would be nice and mutually benefit both sites.  

The chesskid.com site is really awesome.  My girls 7 and 9 love watching the videos.  The people who did those videos have all done a great job.  Nice short videos.  I would love to see a video that covers checkmate from the very beginning.  For example explaining how you have to focus more on where the king can go than where its at.  And then going through some basic check mating patterns.  Of course, as I say this I realize it might be hard to do while keeping the kids interested.  I know I am terrible at teaching my own children chess. 

They also loved choosing from the goofy names and pictures offered.  I don't see the issue there and in fact think its great.      

I tried to play with my 5 years old girl, but there were not players...

It is a little hard for some1 2 actually play you in fastchess when you are good :(

Do you feel it would help you if I created a club just for kids over a certain rating?  Do you think that may help you find opponents of your own strength to play against?

Also, if you post your comment in the official chesskid club you may find a lot more kids see it and challenge you who are around your own rating. You're not alone in what you're asking, many other kids say the same thing, its just a matter of linking you all together so you can get the games you want :)

It might help. I like the >1400 tournaments on chesskid beacause it means you get to play high rated people.

Ok, I have a few chesskid emails to answer today then I'll post in the official chesskid club asking how many others would be interested in this and hopefully we can then get kids some games.. also I can create a tournament for those >1350 so if you joined you'd get a lot of kids around your own ratings and higher that way too. Is there a rating you don't feel confident playing against yet? 1700? 1800 ?  or are you good with any over 1400?

I am okay plaing against 1700 & 1800, even though I will probaly lose.
