If you play bad, you played badly. You shouldn’t try to hide from that reality. Accepting the reality of your mistakes is the first step to improving

Again, it's not up to you, players should have the right not to want people to see their old games, not even necessarily for a specific reason, it's like not wanting people to see your saved tweets, is there a specific reason? not always, but it's there.

it’s a chess game though. The only thing it displays is (maybe) your (probably) outdated ability to play a game of chess.

For example, you might not want to play anonymously, but you don't want your IRL opponents to be able to see your recent games... there are so many case-by-case reasons to justify this feature.

This is likely because of cheating, thoguh this topic might get locked now. If the games are private nobody can check if you have been playing a sudden burst of 99% accuracy games.

when they can make games private after 6 months or a year

But, I do want my IRL opponents to see my recent games. I had a bit of fun in my last classical tournament doing a tiny bit of prepping with my friends 30 minutes before the game started (since that was when the players were revealed)

But you are talking about your own case, I'm talking about the hypothetical case that give people a reason to want to hide their games.

You can play anonymously.

Hiding the games of an already anonymous account makes no sense.

If you don’t want your IRL opponents to see your games than just don’t connect your account to your Uscf or FIDE? Don’t put your name in? Play anonymously?
