Question for those who use custom themes

I don't know why this is bugging me so much - probably just because I thought it would take me two minutes to fix, and after fifteen, I'm stumped.
Both of my custom themes now have slightly different looking drop-down menus in the navigation bar compared to how they looked before the navigation was recently upgraded. Now I've got little 'lines' or borders of light beige or white between every option in the drop-down menu. For whatever reason, I don't like the look of that, so I went in to adjust the colour of that new border. No dice, as far as I can tell. Is that colour 'hard-coded' or have I just failed to find the right element to change?
