In chess.com's defense, I'm sure they just took whatever naming convention database is passed around and integrated it into their website. It was probably named that many years ago... but now that someone's mentioned it, it would be nice if they changed it.

There's no reason why an opening should be named after a sex offender who assaulted children that he taught chess to. Robert Snyder didn't invent the opening nor did he contribute greatly to it. I don't believe anyone even calls the b3 Sicilian the "Snyder", yet it's named that on this site anyway. Why should a disgrace to chess have an opening named after him?
