Also, take note you bleeding hearts that you can only forgive him for what he has done to you. You don't have standing to forgive him for virtually the whole of his offence which was to the site, the people he cheated, etc..

When I say tolerance.. I mean not writing someone off because of a failing they may have had... especially when they are a friend or family member... and you know they are sincerely remorseful...

Some people seem to be, well he screwed up, so off with his head. If that person is sincerely remorseful for what he or she did.... I like to give them a second chance...

I think you may be confusing tolerance with forgiveness.  If he is forgiven, a relapse should still not be tolerated.

i suggest people who are

sincerely remorseful get their points reduced to 1200 and  for their winnings get few points say 25 for a certain time say a month or 2 or for 1 hundred games

and they must show they stoped cheating  then they are free

any cheaters beat punishment is to get reduced to 1200

there is

lol - you spelled misspellings wrong!!

I am a really bad speller. I usually try to use the spellchecker before sending. I was laughing so hard I forgot. Roaring Loins doesn't even show up on internet searches. What a great name for a romance novel. Tongue out

What is your native language, if I might ask?

Genuine remorse = easy to forgive????

thedoorman

Feel sorry for Anton? A second chance?

Some are put in a higher position of trust by the nature of their job or responsibilities to constiuents, employees, or those they serve.

When they break that trust the infraction is far greater than merely cheating. It's a betrayal of not only their own integrity but also a betrayal to thousands once served.

Chess.com acted correctly least they too become invalid in character. Lets assure a conviction of solid character remains a founding principle at Chess.com.

Character: It seems to be a troubled commidity in these troubled times.

I agree.  You can accept someone's apology for breaking your trust, but you'd be a fool to allow them back into a position of trust, never-mind the precedent it would set.  In this case putting them back into a position of trust is allowing them to re-open their account, period, nevermind moderator status.

Even if you do find it within yourself to forgive, forgetting is pure folly.

definitely genuine remorse, and definitely easy to forgive... for some of us anyway.. glad to see I am not the only one who feels this way..

Stop it. You aren't morally superior to anyone in this thread. You're repeatedly reminding us all how you are forgiving someone for wrongs done to SOMEONE BESIDES YOURSELF, ARE YOU INSANE?

One of the hardest things to do is to forgive.  Im sorry but i dont have the time or energy to not forgive.  Life is to short to not be able to let go.

Could a quarantine work? Ok to post and play bullet (no time to cheat)

So after a year or two give the poor bastard a new chance?

I belive in forgiving, nobody is perfect.

I have never found it time consuming or energy sapping to not forgive...on the other hand, forgiving...that takes time and energy!

Rules for playing chess on chess.com are simple.... if you get caught cheeting you're out.

There is no justifiable reason for cheeting on chess.com
