Okay! It’s been about 20 days so I’ve decided to update again! As I believe I’ve said before, I’m playing in the Scholastic U1200 section of the tournament which takes place over 2 days July 14th-15th. I’ve been training pretty good and managed to find many resources for my openings. I’ve got my tactics to be as strong as they used to be (and soon hopefully better) and right now I’m trying to learn as many opening ideas and lines as I can of my openings before the tournament. I’m feeling pretty confident and excited and hoping I can get 3.5/5 points (but I won’t lie, I hope I can win too). I hit 1600 blitz yesterday after feeling inspired to play some aggressive attacking chess (which is odd, because my usual style is slow and positional) and scored 6-1 to get my blitz up to 1600. Right now though I think I need to focus on slower time controls more. I’m going to start playing 1-3 15+10 or 30+0 games every day up until the tournament to practice. That’s all I have for now, wish me luck :D!
