You can't tilt 300 points of elo that's ridiculous.

Happened to me in blitz. 2400-2100 over the course of a few months.

Same I did a smaller tilt 2300-2100 though that was a day next day I was back at 2200 I don't typically have month long tilts

im just playing bad lmao i lost to a 1200 a few weeks ago in a tournament game

I lost to a 1200 also lmao don't worry about it if your focusing on stuff like school or work too much youl play worse maybe due to stress or anxiety if your stressed about it (not that that's bad )

Whenever I was stuck at 2000 I was actually pretty stressed (still am) but when I got a small break I jumped from 2000-2200

So I have started aborting games if I see that the opponent has previously played at a 1700-1800 level.

Why is sandbagging not taken more seriously by chess.com as it ruins the experience?

Rating is approximate. It's not uncommon for people to gain or lose 200 rating points.

Even if they really are 1800 strength, if you are 1500, you should win about 15% of games, so it's still competitive.

Some people are older, above 60 years it can be a challenge to hold the rating. There is one 82-year old IM in my region who's now rated 2050 FIDE.

Also note that if you abort a lot of games, you will land in the bad sports pool. And you will play against other people who abort a lot, who resign early (e.g. sandbaggers), who have suspicious win streaks etc. . So the best thing you can do is not abort games for random reasons, and focus on the chess instead.

Nowadays, people tilt so easily. Crazy, but over 50% of people who are like 1950-2000 blitz have been over 2100 before. As for your claims of sandbaggers at 1500, they are barely any. But who cares anyways? 1500 is a range which takes only one month to get out of.

Puzzleslmfaoz

Oh wait, you are 1400 rapid. You should be able to break that barrier even more easily.

@cR1NN

There's a guy who reached 2200 in march-april 2023 that tilted down to the 1800s and was once under 1700 in april 2024. https://www.chess.com/member/circle

Of course you believe what your friends say, Cirrin.

You can't tilt 300 points of elo that's ridiculous. The only way to do that is to not try for ages, which is basically sandbagging.

It's always funny to see someone who has tilted that much. They are so dumb that they don't know when to take a break.

That's not how that works I tilt all the time I'm just one of the lucky ones that recover almost instantly I almost tilted 300 points once but barely managed to stop it

Tilting is NOT sandbagging

The only thing that's sandbagging is actual sandbagging

Everyone tilts so much at chess it would be a shame if you tilted then you got banned for sandbagging

The real Cirrin must be jealous because the name got stolen from him, I should ask chess.com to give the name back.

There is very little difference in skill between players of those ratings. Perhaps it's psychological. Don't look at the ratings and try to assume they are equal to you as you are playing. If you automatically think you will lose to higher rated players, then you WILL most likely lose. Positive Mental Attitude.

Or if you like the challenge higher rated players you sometimes win more against but what this post said is pretty accurate if you look at the elo and give up because you think they are better than you you will most likely lose

Thinking a player whose highest rating ever is 1500 can beat a player whose highest rating is 1800 is a Disney fairytale. It's like saying a amateur footballer can beat Messi, yes of course in theory, however 9 times out of 10 the answer is gonna be no.

Ah you are a glass half empty person. You need to change that mindset to improve. I sincerely hope you can.

You are 800. If I play you 10 games I will win 10 games. This is how chess works. The differences between different elos are astounding which is why sandbagging is not allowed

Pretty sure i'd beat you 7 times out of 10 with that weak mental.

The funny thing is, a 1500 and 1800 isn’t anywhere close of a gap that an amateur vs messi.

@cR1NN

True. Nowadays, it's completely normal to reach 1800 from 1500 in a month, Cirrin.

I wouldn't say normal but it does happen pretty frequently maybe uncommon to medium rare

+300 rating in a month isn’t normal, unless you’ve already been that high before.

@Cr1NN Bro thinks I don't know.

Yes, he is your friend who talks to you on discord.
