seeking software to enter pgn's


I have chess book and want something to use and enter pgn on each chapter. sections, etc. on computer rather then OTB. I bought king chess 2018 standard

In the freeware world, I suspect most people would use either Scid or Scid vs. PC, although these two programs probably have many more features than you need. A simpler GUI choice might be ChessPad 2.

Oh, and although I haven't used ChessX, I hear that's another option:

Oh, and although I haven't used ChessX, I hear that's another option:

when you want to view the pgn just do it on chessbase reader if you want a program or just go back to chess.com, copy and past the move list and bam you have it.

I would go the board route though. Just my thoughts. 2D chess is stored differently in our brains than 3D chess. If all you do is play online when you go to your first tournament you will be in for a rude awakening.

For my tournament games, I use the Stockfish app on my iPad or iPhone. I get to see the analysis as I'm entering the game and when I'm done, I email the PGN to myself. A little tedious but it works for me.
