Also, Loomis which version of Firefox are you using? Do you keep many tabs open? What is your Firefox memory usage when you experience problems? Thanks
Site and Live Chess Feeling Faster?

Also just to be certain, open up live chess, and then do a ctrl-f5 to make sure you have all the latest javascript code for live chess.

Firefox 3.0.16. Not sure how many is "many", a dozen or so tabs open. Firefox is using 17% of the system memory, there are 3 free GB out of 12.

I have the "go to the next ready game" function in online chess. Today loading the next game takes up to half a minute, while usually it took no more than 5 seconds. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the update.
I just upgraded to Firefox 3.6 a few minutes ago and I'm flying around Chess.com.
If anyone knows how to fix that infernal "not responding" error that happens
when one's computer screen freezes let me know, although it has not happened
yet with this new browser.

I tried Ctrl-F5, still having this issue. It seems to happen more the faster my opponent moves. Which makes it doubly annoying.
The site today is incredibly slow. Pages load, and load, almost forever. If a problem in TT has more moves, the computer pauses like 20 seconds before making the move. Firefox, clear cache, what am I doing wrong??
I pinged your site and the connection seems as good as usual and reliable.

Really makes a guy wish that there was a premove feature in tactics trainer.

I premoved many times in TT :)

It is driving me to tears this I just restarted my computer and it is as slow as it has been all day

Precisely the same is happening to me.

Today I played several games of 1|0 with the same person. As the games went on the slowness/hesitation got worse and worse. Eventually on my opponent's move pieces would move part of the way to their destination, stop for a second, and then keep moving.
I turned off the streaming internet radio playing in another tab and the problems went away.
Maybe it's just a bandwidth issue. But this was in at a University with a very good connection.

i doubt its bandwidth..i gotta think its comp resources being used up. did you ever try chrome? or another computer?
Now I think it's quite fast. However, the pinging time to chess.com is quite the same as when I had the problem with pages loading slowly. About 4% of packages are lost.
Yes, I must be overtaxing my 8 cpu cores and 12 gigs of memory by clicking the mouse. :-/
Everytime better computer hardware come along, someone will make software that wants 110% of the resources.
Internet chess was slick and fast almost 15 years ago. Why this feat can't be duplicated with modern hardware available is a mystery.
Hmm, perhaps I should be more fair. I do run a lot of stuff at the same time I'm trying to play chess. But if I gave up listening to music while playing chess, my opponents wouldn't stand a chance. ;-)
